ZM Series Mixers, the modular, efficient solution for mixing liquids.

news zenit mixer 1px

Submerged mixers are the most practical, efficient solution for mixing liquids in civil and industrial water treatment and purification plants.
Zenit models are based on modular design concepts: high-efficiency motors coupled with propellers of different shapes, sizes and materials.
This offers outstanding versatility, as the product can be configured to optimise performance according to the type of use and the liquid to be treated.
The range is split into 2 types: the ZMD series with direct transmission and the ZMR series with reduction gearbox.
All models are produced in GJL-250 cast iron with a stainless steel propeller. The ZMD series was recently expanded with the addition of new ZMXD models, designed for use with aggressive or brackish liquids, produced entirely in cast AISI 316 stainless steel.
The IE3 efficiency class motors, already applied on the UNIQA range of submersible pumps, have power output ranging from 0.75 to 7.5 kW with 4, 6 or 8 poles and are characterised by excellent energy efficiency and reliability.
Internal temperature sensors avoid any possible damage due to excessive overheating of the motor and bearings.

There are two mechanical seals in silicon carbide (SiC) for ZMD models and three for ZMR models, installed in a large, inspectable oil chamber complete with leakage detection sensor.
The propellers are all in precision cast AISI 316 stainless steel with diameters of 200 to 650 mm, featuring self-cleaning design with excellent hydraulic efficiency.
On the rear of the propellers, a special technical solution prevents ingress of filaments which could twist around the shaft and block the motor.

Zenit ZMD and ZMR series mixers can be used in equalisation, denitrification and homogenisation processes in civil and industrial plants. They can be adopted in single or multiple installations, or in combination with bottom aeration systems.
Zenit technicians are qualified to study and propose the best solution for individual client needs, from the design of the system to supply of components and materials.

A fine example is the Aquarno wastewater treatment plant in S.Croce sull’Arno (Pisa), which treats wastewater from the local tannery district. In this plant, which processes more than 30,000 m3 of urban wastewater a day, 24 ZMR series mixers fitted with high-efficiency 5.5 kW motors and 650 mm propellers were installed to guarantee efficient wastewater treatment and prevent sediment formation in the first rain tanks.
The high-efficiency motors and stainless steel structures ensure a highly reliable system requiring very little maintenance, which translates into lower operating costs in general.
