Replacing type A-A mechanical seals
- Moisten the first counterface of the mechanical seal with alcohol and insert it in the seat
- Position the first counterface in the seat with the block
- Clean the surface of the first counterface to replace any residues with a paper towel
- Lightly lubricate the first counterface
- Clean the surface of the first mechanical seal with a paper towel and moisten it with alcohol
- Insert the first mechanical seal into the shaft and position it with the block
- Lock the first mechanical seal with the circlip
- Insert the spacer into seat
- Moisten the second mechanical seal with alcohol and position it with the block
- Position the O-ring in the seats
- Position the oil chamber
- Lock the oil chamber by tightening the screws in a criss-cross order
- Clean the surfaces of the pump plate
- Place the O-ring in the seat of the pump plate
- Moisten the second counterface with alcohol and position it in the seat with the block
- Position the lock ring and lead in the screws WITHOUT TIGHTENING THEM
- Use Loctite 243 thread lock or equivalent
- Insert the O-ring in the seat
- Place the oil lifter in the seat and secure it by tightening the screws
- Lightly close the fins of the oil lifter inwards
- Using a gauge, check that the distance is about 8 mm
- Clean the surface of the second counterface with a paper towel
- Lightly lubricate the second counterface
- Clean the surface with compressed air
- Clean the surface of the mechanical seal with a paper towel.
- Place the O-rings in the seats of the oil chamber
- Overturn the pump plate and place it on the oil chamber
- Tighten 2 opposite screws by hand to allow the correct positioning of the pump plate
- Lock the pump plate by tightening the screws in a criss-cross order
