Zenit presents Grey CTG pumps

zenit submersible pumps new Grey CTG with cutting system

Zenit presents Grey CTG pumps: a revolution in high-concentration organic wastewater management, through an innovative cutting system.

Zenit Grey CTG submersible pumps are designed for handling high-concentration organic wastewater containing solids and fibrous materials in civil and industrial applications. Their distinctive feature is the innovative cutting system, which, by combining a channel impeller with sharp edge blades and a fixed blade on the suction flange, creates an effective scissor-like action that grinds solid and fibrous waste.

Unprecedented hydraulic unit for solid and fibrous waste
CTG pumps complete the Grey series, now equipped with application-specific hydraulic units: DGG (vortex impeller and entirely free passageway), DRG (channel impeller and wide free passageway), GRG (open multi-channel impeller and grinding system with rotary knife) and APG (open multi-channel impeller and high-pressure head).
The CTG pump was specifically developed to overcome the limitations of traditional cutting pumps, such as the different nature of the solids treated and smaller free passageways.
The CTG series is based on state-of-the-art hydraulic units, featuring the cutting system, specifically designed to shred solid waste and grind filamentary waste contained in wastewater. The channel impeller with sharp blades and suction flange fixed blade combo creates an effective scissor-like action that can grind solid and fibrous waste. Thanks to these characteristics, CTG pumps have flow rates and free passage values comparable to channel and vortex hydraulic units.
This simple system is extremely effective both in managing solids and in preserving the hydraulic units from any blockages. The impeller blades are screwed along the hub, effectively conveying solid waste towards the blade built into the suction flange, and preventing them from getting tangled around the impeller and thus clogging the hydraulic unit.
An effective and simple system to maintain, with the option of adjusting the clearance between the blade and the impeller with cellulose fibre gaskets inserted between the flange and the pump body.

Outstanding construction features
Built with high-quality materials to ensure durability and resistance, the Grey CTG features an EN-GJL250 cast iron body. The impeller, suction flange and blade are made of GJS-600 spheroidal cast iron, which combines the strength of steel with the ductility of cast iron, making the cutting system especially resistant to impacts and friction typical of heavy-duty industrial applications.
The 50Hz three-phase motors from 2.2 to 15kW ensure a versatile use in residential, civil and industrial applications. It is equipped as standard with two silicon carbide [SiC-SiC] mechanical seals inside the serviceable oil chamber: with this configuration, the seals never touch any solid or filamentary waste present in the wastewater.
The wide free passageway and the DN80 to DN100 outlet diameter guarantee above-average hydraulic performances and efficiency. Thermal protections are built into the stator to increase safety and durability, and the two-component epoxy paint has an extra thickness of 200 µm.
On a last note, the range is available also with an ATEX II 2G Ex db h IIB T4 Gb certification, for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Extremely versatile areas of application
The Grey CTG comes to the rescue when traditional cutting pumps are subject to limitations and clogging.
In the paper and textile industry, for transporting industrial water with fibrous residues or filaments; in municipal and emergency applications, for disposing of water/waste mixtures in urban or alluvial contexts; and in wastewater treatment, in the food, agricultural and livestock industry, for pumping wastewater and highly-concentrated process water.
Grey CTG is the ultimate solution for an efficient and blockage-free management of wastewater with the highest organic concentration.
