Collection of rainwater in Marseille

Situation

Creation of a new shopping mall called “Les Docks” in Marseille, close to the port.
As every big similar structure, they needed to create one tank for sewage water and one separate tank for the collection of rain water outside the building.
Recommended by a local engineering office, Zenit was requested to provide pumps for rain water application. The tank is next to the sea, in front of the port, so the rain water which is pumped, is mixed with sea water. The duty point of the application was 179l/sec at 4.5m head. 

Solution

We provided a solution with 4x ZUG OC 250H 15/4 AD 269 with Epoxy coating for sea water application. As it was possible that the pumps would run on dry, we provided a solution with cooling system.
We selected the coupling foot DAC 250/300 because they have fittings in DN300.

Benefits

Customer expectations has been satisfied. The installed pumps satisfied the requested high duty point and the hard strenght to sea water corrosion, including the economical benefits due to high efficiency motor of Uniqa pumps.
